Position Summary: The Facilities Assistant is responsible for maintenance duties and clean-up of all areas of the facility, including but not limited to restrooms, classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and offices within select buildings on the Harmony Hill School campus.  This is a part time position, working between twenty (20) to twenty four (24) hours per week.  The scheduled hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Essential Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Assumes responsibility for general security of the buildings and campus. 2. Assumes responsibility for the general fire safety of the building. 3. Responsible for all general cleaning and maintenance of the buildings and campus. 4. Performs cleaning services as necessary. 5. Assists in snow removal. 6. Generally supervises and maintains the school grounds. 7. Cleans and maintains all tools and equipment. 8. Sweeps floors, empties waste paper baskets, dusts ledges, windowsills, bookcases, cleans glass partitions, sinks, lavatories            and bubblers. 9. Clean and sanitize all toilets, seats, sinks and urinals, empty and wash all feminine napkin disposal cans. 10. Replenish towel dispensers, soap dispensers, toilet paper and feminine napkin dispensers. 11. Washes, waxes and seals floors according to prescribed procedures and schedules. 12. Turn on exterior lighting at appropriate time 13. Check security of building when unoccupied 14. Cleans office area and conference rooms (vacuum rugs, dust furniture, etc) 15. Vacuums carpets in all areas 16. Locks all outside doors when leaving 17. Any and all related duties as may be assigned Qualifications: Possess a High School diploma or GED. Must have at least one (1) year of custodial and maintenance experience. Must be organized. Must be able to communicate successfully with all staff and students. Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. Must be able to stand/walk for up to seven hours per shift.
